Warhammer Tone Pro & Tech Pro

Warhammer Tone Pro is a coordinated miniature paint range designed around 30 colour families, with five progressive tones in each family. With 150 colours across the complete range, painters can move from deep shadows through mid-tones to brighter highlights while keeping a consistent colour relationship across a miniature.

Each Warhammer Tone Pro colour family is numbered from Tone 1 to Tone 5. Tone 1 is the darkest colour in the sequence, while Tone 5 provides the lightest tone. This makes it straightforward to select colours for basecoating, layering, highlighting, stippling, glazing and controlled colour transitions.

How the Warhammer Tone Pro system works

Instead of selecting unrelated individual paints, you can work through five coordinated colours within the same family. Start with the darker tones for shadows and recessed areas, then progressively move through the range to build mid-tones and highlights.

  • Tone 1: deepest shade in the colour family
  • Tone 2: dark transitional tone
  • Tone 3: central mid-tone
  • Tone 4: lighter layer or highlight colour
  • Tone 5: brightest highlight in the family

This five-step system can help both new and experienced painters plan smooth colour progressions without having to guess which paints will work together.

30 coordinated colour families

The range covers natural earth tones, skin colours, greys, blacks, reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, violets and purples. Families include Gnarlwood, Khemri Sands, Necrolith Bone, Carthalos Skin, Celestine Skin, Dataslate Grey, Blackstone Void, Carmine Blades, Bloodtoof Red, Chotec Orange and many more.

Warhammer Tech Pro mediums

The range is supported by Warhammer Tech Pro Blending Medium and Warhammer Tech Pro Shading Medium. These mediums can be used alongside the Tone Pro colours when you want additional control over blending, shading and paint behaviour.
