Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy

Here at R&R Hobbies, we strive to make your experience simple and easy.

Some items in our store may be offered as in-stock items, subscriptions, pre-orders, backorders, Kickstarter items, crowdfunding items, special order items, or try-before-you-buy items. This policy explains when and how you can request a change or cancellation for these types of purchases.

General Order Cancellations or Amendments

Once your order has been placed, it may begin processing through our system quickly so we can prepare it for dispatch or collection.

For in-stock items, the item is treated as allocated and committed once the order has been placed.

Because of this, we cannot guarantee that an order can be cancelled or amended after it has been placed.

If you need to request a cancellation or amendment, please contact us urgently and provide:

  • Your order number.
  • Your specific amendment request, including the correct delivery address if applicable.
  • Your specific cancellation request, if applicable.

If we are unable to action the request before the order is processed, packed, dispatched, allocated, committed or fulfilled, the order may be subject to our Returns Policy, this Cancellation Policy, or both.

Subscriptions

When you purchase a subscription, you will receive repeat deliveries based on the subscription duration and delivery frequency you select at checkout.

Your payment details will be stored securely and you will be charged for each delivery unless you choose to pay in advance.

Some subscriptions may automatically renew at the end of their selected duration. If you do not want your subscription to renew, you must cancel it before the renewal date.

You can manage, change or cancel your subscription using the link in your order confirmation email. If you cannot access your order link, please contact us with your order number.

Cancellation of a subscription will stop future subscription charges only.

If an order has already been processed, packed, shipped, allocated, committed, or otherwise actioned before your cancellation request is received, that order may still proceed.

You may still be able to return the item in accordance with our Returns Policy and your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

For more information about returns and refunds, please see our Returns Policy.

Pre-Orders, Backorders, Kickstarter and Crowdfunding Items

When you purchase a pre-order, backorder, Kickstarter item, crowdfunding item or similar item, you are purchasing a product that is not currently in stock or is not yet available for immediate fulfilment.

You may request cancellation of one of these items before it has been allocated, committed or fulfilled.

An item is treated as allocated or committed once we have placed, confirmed, funded, reserved, or otherwise committed to the relevant order with a supplier, distributor, manufacturer, Kickstarter campaign, crowdfunding campaign or other supply partner.

This includes situations where we are no longer able to cancel or reduce our commitment without cost.

Once an item has been allocated, committed or fulfilled, we may not be able to cancel it as a change of mind request.

If a cancellation is approved for a pre-order, backorder, Kickstarter item, crowdfunding item or similar item, the refund will be based on the amount paid for the cancelled item or cancelled portion of the order, less a cancellation fee of 15%.

These fees apply to approved change of mind cancellations only. They do not apply where a refund, replacement or other remedy is required under Australian Consumer Law.

These cancellation terms also apply to partial cancellations, reductions in item quantities, and other requested changes that reduce the total value of an order.

For more information about returns and refunds, please see our Returns Policy.

Cancellation Fees

Approved change of mind cancellations may incur a 15% cancellation fee.

This fee may apply to approved cancellation requests for in-stock items, pre-orders, backorders, Kickstarter items, crowdfunding items, special order items, subscription orders, or other orders where R&R Hobbies has already incurred time, administration, processing, supplier, payment provider or handling costs.

For in-stock items, the item is treated as allocated and committed once the order has been placed.

If an approved cancellation relates to an order that has already been picked, packed or prepared for shipping, an additional restocking fee of 10% of the cancelled amount may apply.

Where a Buy Now, Pay Later payment method was used, any change of mind cancellation may also incur a 5% fee of the total purchase price due to fees charged to us by these payment providers.

These fees do not apply where a refund, replacement or other remedy is required under Australian Consumer Law.

Partial Cancellations and Order Amendments

Cancellation fees may also apply to approved partial cancellations, reductions in item quantities, removal of items from an order, or other customer-requested changes that reduce the total value of an order.

If an amendment results in additional shipping, handling, supplier, processing, payment provider or administrative costs, we may ask you to pay the difference before the amendment is completed.

If an amendment cannot be completed before the order is processed, packed, dispatched, allocated, committed or fulfilled, the order may proceed as originally placed.

Try Before You Buy

When you purchase a try-before-you-buy item, we may authorise your payment method before fulfilling the order.

This authorisation confirms that your payment method is valid but does not necessarily mean you have been charged.

You will have the stated trial period to decide whether to keep the item. The trial period, return deadline and any return requirements will be shown at checkout or in your order confirmation.

If you return the item within the trial period and in accordance with the return instructions, you will not be charged the full purchase price, except for any charges disclosed at checkout or permitted by law.

If the trial period ends and you have not returned the item in accordance with the return instructions, we will charge your payment method for the full purchase price.

If the item is returned damaged, incomplete or outside the trial period, we may charge your payment method for the full purchase price or a reasonable amount reflecting the condition of the item, where permitted by law.

For more information about returns and refunds, please see our Returns Policy.

Refund Processing

Any approved refund will be processed via the original payment method and you will be notified by email once this has occurred.

Payments made by credit or debit card may take up to 5 business days to appear in your account. This timeframe depends on your financial institution and is outside R&R Hobbies' control.

Where a Buy Now, Pay Later payment method was used, any change of mind cancellation, refund or amendment may incur a 5% fee of the total purchase price due to fees charged to us by these payment providers.

This fee does not apply where a refund or remedy is required under Australian Consumer Law.

Customers are not entitled to receive a refund on purchases of R&R Hobbies gift cards, except where required by law.

Returns After Cancellation Is Not Available

If an order can no longer be cancelled because it has already been processed, packed, dispatched, allocated, committed or fulfilled, you may still be able to request a return in accordance with our Returns Policy.

Change of mind returns, where accepted, may be subject to return conditions, restocking fees and customer-paid return shipping as set out in our Returns Policy.

For more information about returns and refunds, please see our Returns Policy.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

Where a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy such as a repair, replacement, refund, cancellation or other remedy depending on the circumstances.

Any cancellation fees, restocking fees, payment provider fees or customer-paid return costs described in this policy apply to approved change of mind or customer-requested cancellations only. They do not apply where a remedy is required under Australian Consumer Law.
